Farmlevel Story
Kintamani
A Thousand-Year Tradition
This coffee grows in the volcanic shadows of Mount Agung, where farming follows a 1,000-year-old philosophy called Tri Hita Karana. This traditional approach focuses on the harmony between humans, the environment, and the divine. The farmers are organized into a "Subak Abian"—a sustainable community structure originally developed by Hindu priests to manage irrigation. Growing alongside citrus trees that provide both shade and a secondary income for the families, these beans are a product of a truly holistic and ancient ecosystem that prioritizes the health of the land above all else.
Volcanic Vitality
While most Indonesian coffees are known for being heavy and earthy, this "Full Natural" process from Bali is a total game-changer. The method was originally adopted to conserve water in the highlands, but the results were a happy accident of incredible flavor. By drying the coffee inside the full fruit on raised beds, the beans soak up a wild, tropical sweetness that is rare for this region. The result is a cup that defies expectations, offering a bright, fruit-forward energy that is perfectly balanced by a deep, molasses-like richness.
